Homelessness

`Authors note:I am writing this for my project on homelessness and it is also one of my tasks.

When you think of homelessness you usually think of someone with torn clothing on the streets in a box. Actually homeless people look almost like anyone else you would see in the store or an other public building. Homelessness can strike any were at any time and can happen to anyone.

Homelessness happens to may people for many reasons like maybe someone was low on money and they had to pay a bill. Or if someone was living in a very bad apartment with roaches and cracks in the wall (Gross) and wouldn't pay for it because  it was such a bad shape. Then they would be kicked out by their land lord. Some times people lose their money because they get very sick too.
54% of families earn less than $15,000 a year.

When they get kicked out they are usually are in a state of confusion, sadness, or depression( :'(  ). They usually find somewhere to stay until  a shelter is open and if they are really lucky there is already a spot open.

At the "Guest House" they regularly have 30 or more people waiting on their waiting list. The Guest House only serves men so imagine how many people are waiting on the "Hebron House" waiting list!(The Hebron house is a shelter that serves homeless families) At the Guest House people get 30 days at most to help to shelter all of the other people and if they don't take this "homelessness" thing seriously and don't actually try to get a House, Job, or Apartment they might be kicked out (Again).

Milwuakee is the 4th poorest city in the United States! (Whoa)
41% of the children in Milwaukee are living in poverty
42% of people that are homeless are families with children

Please don't ignore people in need and so I was thinking of starting a supply drive for this project. I just wanted you to be aware when I start it so that you will be ready. Homelessness can happen to anyone, the Hebron House has seen Doctors bankers and other things so just because your dad or mom has a high paying job doesn't mean it won't happen to you.
